DAYTON—The Liberty Theater and Dayton Memorial Library announce a special one-night free screening of Rob Reiner’s classic 1987 comedy, “The Princess Bride,” starring Robin Wright, Cary Elwes and Peter Falk.
The film rolls Wednesday, Sept. 26 at 7 pm. The event is sponsored by Friends of Dayton Library in recognition of Banned Books Week, which champions intellectual freedom.
Based on the novel by William Goldman, the Princess Bride is a family classic, despite its being targeted for removal or restriction in schools and libraries.
Character costumes are encouraged for this community party event. Trivia prizes will be given out, including a $25 Amazon gift card. Liberty Theater Manager Mike Ferrians will appear incognito.
Rated PG, the show is free and open to the public.
