Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG—The Waitsburg City Council hosted a budget workshop with city staff at the Waitsburg Business Center on Oct. 4 to review various items impacting this year’s budget as well as discuss future projects.
“It’s more or less an open discussion forum between me and the City Council,” said City Administrator Randy Hinchliffe. The 2018 budget is $2,169,000. The major project completed this year was the water meter replacement project.
The proposed budget for 2019 is $2,104,000. Next year’s primary project will be replacing the Wastewater Treatment system. A lower priority project is the Main St. pocket park, which Hinchliffe hopes to get to “some kind of usable space by Celebration Days.”
Nothing has been officially approved yet. The Council will see preliminary numbers in their packet at this month’s City Council Meeting to be held October 17 at the Fairgrounds in the Lions Club Building.
