Craig C. Moisio

April 22, 1952—October 8, 2018

Craig C. Moisio, age 66, died on October 8, 2018, in Dayton, WA. Craig is survived by his wife of 40 years, Paula Moisio, his daughters, Rachel (Geoff) Robinson of LaGrande OR, Amanda Moisio, and grandchildren – Cotter, Tanner, Hope, Taylor, Justin, Parker, Hayden, Faith, Rilley, Saraya, Avrey, and Raven. His mother Aileen Moisio, his father Uno Moisio and several aunts and uncles precede him in death.

Craig was born on April 22, 1952 in Hamilton MT. He graduated from Hamilton High School in 1970 and from Blue Mountain Community College in 1999. He met his wife, Paula, in Last Chance, Colorado while on a harvest crew in 1977 and they married in 1978. They lived in Montana, Washington, Idaho, Oregon and Kansas before moving to Dayton, WA in 2005. Craig worked in several jobs during his lifetime to build the experience and wisdom that he valued. He was a hard worker and provided his family with a solid foundation of work ethics and stability. During his life, he worked as a farm hand, a truck driver, a fire fighter for USFS, a cabinetmaker, a timber cruiser for Boise Cascade, and as a technician for Vestas in the wind turbine industry. Born in the Bitterroot valley in Montana, he always considered himself a mountain boy and his favorite job was working in the mountains as a timber cruiser. He also enjoyed his years working in the wind turbines and was one of the early hires when Vestas started at the Helix site in Oregon. He worked for Vestas in Helix, OR, in Montezuma KS and in Dayton, WA and valued the relationships he built with the crew. Craig was a devoted husband and a loving father. His grandchildren will have lasting memories of his big hugs, his ability to make a short story long and his “grandpa sayings.”

Funeral was held October 13. In lieu of flowers, please send memorial donations to Blue Mountain Heritage Society at P.O. Box 163, Dayton WA 99328.
