David Ross Sanders, 74, passed away on October 17, 2018 at Salem Hospital with family by his side.
David was born in Dayton, WA to Richard "Bud" Sanders and Fern Myrtle Rogers on March 30, 1944. David graduated from Dayton High School in 1963. After high school David married Kathy Gagnon of Waitsburg, WA. After their wedding David and Kathy moved to Portland, OR. where he was employed for many years as a computer programmer. They had a child Annette Louise Sanders/Erickson (Becker).
Years later David and Kathy divorced. David remained in Portland and continued his work. In 1973 he married Kay Walters and lived in Salem, OR, where they raised two boys, Tony Ray Sanders and John Roger Sanders.
David enjoyed working and playing on the computer most all of his life. He enjoyed watching movies and his favorite band was Abba.
David is survived by his son, John Sanders, Sr. of Salem, OR, daughter, Annette Becker of Walla Walla, WA. Grandchildren Tony and John Sanders Jr., Mia and Hanna Becker and Kayla Turner. Many cousins, Ron Delp, Gary Delp, Betty Ann Fletcher, Sandra Spoonemore, Joann McCland, Greg Leid, Pat Leid and Reta Rae Dudley. He was preceded in death by his parents, step father Merlin "Pearly" Gates, brother Roger Sanders and son, Tony Sanders.
There will be a graveside service in the spring at the Dayton Cementary.
