WAITSBURG—In a game in Waitsburg on Dec. 4, the Dayton-Waitsburg boys’ basketball team had a tough lost against St. John-Endicott in Waitsburg, falling 43-36.
DW came out hot in the first quarter, outscoring SJ-E 18-9 in that frame. A big second-quarter rally gave SJ-E a 22-20 lead at the half. DW stayed close in the second half, but couldn’t close the gap.
For the game, Mason Finney led DW with 13 points, Braden Kitselman had nine and Chris Andrews had eight.
On Dec. 6, DW fell to College Place, also in Waitsburg, 55-31.
DW hung in in the first half, trailing 24-18 at the half. CP outscored DW in the second half, 31-13 to put the game away.
For the game, Chris Andrews and Mason Finney each had 10 points for DW, including one three-pointer each.
