Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG—The Dayton-Waitsburg girls’ basketball team fell to St. John-Endicott in a home game in Waitsburg on Dec. 4, 55-32. DW also lost to College place in Waitsburg on Dec. 6, 64-26.
Against SJ-E, DW fell behind early, as SJ-E went into halftime with a 31-18 lead. DW trailed 40-20 after three quarters.
“This was a tough, physical game,” said Assistant Coach Des Jones. “The girls played hard, never gave up, and played their best ball in the fourth quarter.”
Jones was particularly pleased with the play of Tatumn Laughery and Sadie Seney. “Tatumn Laughery had a ton of hustle points on the floor. She had six steals and scored 13 points. Sadie Seney pulled down a team high of 11 rebounds,” she said.

Against College Place, DW started the game strong, leading 8-5 after one quarter, but then their offense went cold. CP led at the half, 25-10 and 46-12 after three.
“College Place is a very good running team,” said Jones. “They pressured the ball well and capitalized on our turnovers to turn them in to quick points. Sadie Seney was our high scorer with 10, and dominated the boards with 15 rebounds.”
