Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG—Mary Phillips, of the Waitsburg Historical Society, and Kate Hockersmith, with the Emergency Preparedness Committee, are joining forces to create a historical display in the Wilson-Phillips House, on the history of flooding in Waitsburg.
They are looking for items from any of the floods that took place prior to 1996. They are also looking specifically for a picture from the Flood of ’96 of a boat that was tied up to Town Hall and of sandbagged Highway 12, with water running in it.
Please contact Mary Phillips at 337-6427 or Kate Hockersmith at 337-8789 about any memorability or photos you would be willing to share. Items will be on loan to the Waitsburg Historical Society for the summer and returned following the Fall Festival in September.
