Burn Bans are in place

WALLA WALLA/COLUMBIA Counties—Local and state agencies already have burn bans planned or in place.

Fire No. 2

Columbia-Walla Walla Fire No. 2 will institute a burn ban in Columbia and Walla Walla counties from July 8-Sept 15. That ban includes the City of Waitsburg and the end date may be extended if conditions warrant.

Bureau of Land Management

The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) has issued fire restrictions on public lands administered by the BLM and the Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) in eastern Washington. The order went into effect on June 22 and includes the following counties: Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla, Whitman and Yakima.

Caution is advised when operating motor vehicles on roads or trails with vegetation and fireworks, exploding targets and target shooting is not allowed.

Department of Natural Resources

Southeastern Washington is currently rated at high or moderate wildfire danger. Permit and rule burning is not allowed at either level. Visit https://fortress.wa.gov/dnr/protection/firedanger/ to keep updated on classifications and read current rules.
