Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

heARTfelt Christmas is coming to town

WAITSBURG—Coming out of a pandemic has been no match for Waitsburg’s Christmas spirit. With Hometown Christmas, typically held the second weekend after Thanksgiving, on hold, due to the pandemic, community members have come together to bring plenty of Christmas sparkle to our little town.

Waitsburg’s heARTfelt Christmas celebration will take place on Saturday, December 18. Enjoy local shopping, food, libations, Santa, and a parade through town. Be sure to take a walk or drive after the parade to appreciate all the lights and decorations in the neighborhoods.

Santa Claus will be in the lobby at the Plaza Theater on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. for photos and Christmas wishes.

All along Main Street will be busy! The Weller Public Library will be serving hot cocoa and cookies. Sign up for a new library card or check out a new book while there. The Friends of the Library has been working hard to update the library, so look around and see what is new!

There will be fun holiday gift shopping at Gaudy Gals, Blush Salon, and Ten Ton Coffee.

Bundle up for the Christmas Parade at 5 p.m. Horses, floats, and four-wheelers are just a few of the many entries so far. If you want to ride in the parade, entries will be accepted through Thursday, December 16, late entries will be considered.

The parade route will be different from past years, so check the map in the ad to the right to find the best places to watch the fun.

After the parade, join the new owners of Amercan 35, (the old Anchor Bar) for hot cider around a fire pit at the pocket park on Main Street across from Town Hall. Wrap up the evening with a glass of wine, beer or cider at The Royal Block and enjoy a music with a live DJ from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. The music moves to The Plaza Theater from 9 p.m. to midnight.
