Walla Walla Fair Entry Deadline is August 5

WALLA WALLA—The 2022 Walla Walla Fair & Frontier Days opens August 31 and if you’re planning to exhibit your cow, goat, horse, cake, quilt, painting, whatever (there’s a class for it – whatever it is), the deadline to submit your entry form is August 5.

“Without the exhibits of livestock, crafts, canned goods, we wouldn’t have a fair,” Fair Manager Greg Lybeck said, “they’re at the heart of why we hold a fair. In fact, in 2021, we were able to pay the highest per placing of prize money in the history of our Fair.”

Lybeck went on to say, “I encourage everyone to consider entering something at this year’s Fair. It’s an easy process – you can even do it on-line.” Sha-lynne Stewart, interim Fair Exhibits & Events Coordinator, echoed Lybeck, noting help is available in-person at the Fair Office or by phone at 509/527-3247. Stewart also pointed out that exhibitors are eligible for free or reduced Fair gate admission passes when they bring their animal or exhibit to the Fair and that the majority of classes are free to enter.

“The Board of County Commissioners and the Fair Board of Directors and I have always been and continue to be 100% supportive of our exhibitors,” Lybeck stated, “because we recognize how critical the exhibitors and their exhibits are to the Fair. Can you imagine coming to the Fair and not seeing any cows or horses or artwork? It just wouldn’t be a Fair.”
