Veterans honored at Waitsburg schools

WAITSBURG-On Thursday, November 10, the Waitsburg School District honored veterans with a performance titled "We Honor Our Veterans." Music teacher Elizabeth Jagelski, high school teacher Roseann Groom, and others organized a spectacular program for Veterans, the community, and students.

Secondary Principal Stephanie Wooderchak welcomed Veterans, senior Natalie Teal emceed, the high school ASB leadership class presented flags, and sophomore Marion Duncan performed the Star-Spangled Banner.

The school gym was decorated for the event, where K-5 students sang songs, students recited the history of Veterans Day, and the middle and high school choir sang to a full house.

Army Veteran Joe Greer was the guest speaker. The students gave five women Veterans roses. Elementary students sang the United States Armed Forces Medley with the Veterans standing up as their branch of service was mentioned.

Veterans introduced themselves and shared their branch and when they served. They shared stories about their families, including children or grandchildren who attend or attended Waitsburg Schools.

The program concluded with the singing of God Bless the U.S.A.

This was a wonderful performance!
