Sarabeth McGowen
Sarabeth McGowen plans to attend Walla Walla University in the fall to earn her degree in K-12 Music Education. An honor student, McGowen plays in the pep band and is the treasurer for the National Honor Society and the Class of 2023.
McGowen takes senior English, Current World Problems, band, and a college prep class at Waitsburg High School.
McGowen played soccer in elementary school and volleyball in middle school before focusing on her love of music. Her favorite memories of high school are participating in Mass Band competitions and playing Knockerball at field night during homecoming week her senior year.
Garrett Palmer
Garrett Palmer is the President of the Waitsburg FFA and Captain of the trap shooting team. He has competed in Rangeland Management, job employment skills, and livestock judging as an FFA member. He started showing pigs at the fair as a 4-H member when he was nine and continued with the FFA group.
Palmer takes three morning classes at Waitsburg High School and works in the afternoon. He plans to attend Walla Walla Community College in the fall to acquire his CDL, as his goal is to get a job as a lineman.
Football Coach Troy Larsen's speeches before and after football games are a memory Palmer will never forget. "He cheered people up," said Palmer.
