Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG–Weller Public Library has a new Library Supervisor. At the August Board of Trustees meeting, the board offered library support staff Sarah Roberts the position of Library Supervisor, to replace Librarian Twila Tate. Tate submitted her letter of resignation earlier in the board meeting.
"It has been a pleasure to work with the Board of Trustees, Waitsburg City Council, the City Administration, and the Friends of Weller Library for the past year to improve library services for the Community of Waitsburg. The library staff is the face of Weller and is active in the community through outreach to Waitsburg schools and providing excellent patron support and services."
Tate recommended Roberts for the role of Library Supervisor. She said Roberts had the education and background needed to manage the library in accordance with the Board and City Council policies. As Librarian, Tate has worked with the library staff to expand hours of operation within the limited budget. With Roberts in the new position, Tate has applied for the open seat on the board of trustees so she can continue working on policy development and capital projects to secure the library's future.
