Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG — The City of Waitsburg will test the flood siren on November 11 at 10 a.m. The siren is located on the Weller Public Library roof and sounds at noon on weekdays. For the test, the siren pattern will be continuously sounded for a long time to be determined by the operator.
City Council and Community Health & Protection Committee member Jillian Henze said residents should use the flood siren or other alerts to ensure family members and animals are safe. If conditions warrant, people in the affected areas should head to higher ground or evacuate the area. There is a city flood control plan available at http://www.cityofwaitsburg.com/flood-control.
For more information, residents are encouraged to attend the Community Health and Protection Committee meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 14, at Waitsburg City Hall. For Zoom go to https://tinyurl.com/yc3frht5.
