Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
February 9, 1953 – February 9, 2024
Beverly Jean Bales, daughter of Bobby and Midge Franklin Bales, passed away on her 71st birthday, February 9, 2024.She spent most of her childhood years in Sunrise Beach, Missouri, graduating from Camdenton High School. She was known there for her cooking at Chances ‘R’ and Dina’s Playland. She was a highly talented artist who achieved many awards for her artwork. She left a legacy of her paintings throughout Lake of the Ozarks, the Columbia County area of Washington state, and Reno, Nevada. She was also an accomplished horsewoman and skilled cook. She spent most of her adult life in Reno, Nevada and Dayton, Washington. While she supported herself with work in both the construction and food industries, these were only a means to support her passion for her horses. She loved teaching western show riding, and won many ribbons for endurance riding, showmanship and other equestrian talents. She is survived by her brother Nathan “Joe” (Yvonne) Bales of rural Tennessee, her cat Shirley, and her beloved mule Sara. She was a funny, crass, lovable old gal who will be sorely missed. At her request, no services will be held.
