Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
Now under the guidance of the fifth generation, this founding California winery makes a wide range of pricey single vineyard Zins, along with this more affordable yet high quality bottling. Often a featured wine at Costco, its listed price is $26 but you should be able to find this almost anywhere for around $22. This is serious Zinfandel, neither light nor sweet. Its blackberry, plum and cherry fruit is accented with woody herbs and baking spices. A light touch of pepper adds texture and bite. Be sure to look for the 'Sonoma' bottling, and give it an hour or two to breathe before drinking. Guaranteed to fire up any lingering winter doldrums. 15% alcohol; $20 - $26 (Sonoma)
