Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg High School track season began on Monday, February 26. This is the first season that track will be run as a co-op program with Dayton School District. The two teams will compete for their schools but share Dayton's field and coaching staff.
Coach Dan Nechodom stated there are some unique challenges to work through, but he knows his athletes and is confident they will rise to the occasion.
Waitsburg athlete Rueben Yutzy will be attempting to return to State in shot put and other events. Several others, including some first-year athletes, show potential for postseason play, said Nechodom.
The team will have its first competition on Saturday, March 9, in Walla Walla.
