Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

The Debate Goes On

WAITSBURG -Waitsburg Youth and Government students are still raising money for their trip to Olympia in May. The Jars Project asks the public to express opinions on crucial Waitsburg issues by putting their money where their mouths are. The jars can be found around town at participating businesses. Here is an update on some of the results:

Final results for the original questions:

• Soup is precisely $2 better than salad.

• Pedicures are $5 better than manicures.

• The Beatles are $21 better than Elvis.

• In what came as a great relief, good is $7 better than evil.

Below are the new questions introduced at Waitsburg grocery, Ten Ton Coffee, Blush Salon, and new participants Royal Block, Laht Neppur Brewery, Gaudy Gals, and the Waitsburg Public Library.

• Milk chocolate leads dark chocolate by a surprisingly thin margin. Will the darkness overtake us all?

Milk chocolate – 19

• Iced coffee took a commanding lead over hot coffee and hot chocolate, showing us all the power of a third-party candidate.

Hot coffee – 21

Hot chocolate – 16

Iced – 48

• Even though the weather is turning, Waitsburgers still find great comfort in Stout over the light crispness of IPA.

IPA – 7

Stouts – 19

• However, beer seems to have a commanding lead even at a self-proclaimed wine bar.

Beer – 23

Wine – 7

Matt Elder and Waitsburg Youth and Government students thanked everyone for donating and to all the businesses participating. They have reached over half of their goal and do not plan to slow down until the trip in May.
