Some of the items on display from the Waitsburg Historic Society's collection included the shirt, belt, and boots Barbara Danforth wore as Queen of Days of Real Sport in 1948.
WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg BE, P.E.O. held the chapter's 100th Anniversary luncheon at Town Hall on Sunday, April 28, 2024.
Over 100 attendees, including long-time members, new members, and B.I.L (Brothers in Love) members, enjoyed the luncheon. The hall was decorated with period clothing and memorabilia from the Waitsburg Historic Society collection.
Members recognized at the luncheon included Barbara Danforth, who has been a member for 60 years. Lynn Mantz-Powers, Linda Stonecypher, Kathy Payne, Nancy Otterson, Jill McConnell, and Anita Baker were recognized for 50 years of membership.
The organization in conjunction withthe Waitsburg Lion's Club, will host Burgers, Bands, and Brews this Celebration Days on May 18. The event will raise money for the organization's Citizenship Award. Tickets are $20 for ages 21 and older and $10 for under 21. Tickets are on sale now.
