Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley

Involuntary Commitment Red

Wine of the Week

Last week, I spent a day walking the vineyards in the Rattlesnake Hills, researching an in-depth feature for my Substack pages. Among the highlights was a tasting with Will Camarda, who has taken over the reins at his family's Andrew Will winery. We sat outside at the Two Blondes vineyard, the source of many of the winery's most expensive bottles. So I was amazed and delighted when Will pulled out this bottle, a blend sourced from top Columbia Valley vineyards, including Two Blondes, yet priced well below its siblings. This new vintage is a blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cab Franc, smooth, rich, and deep with a touch of new barrel toastiness. It's produced at Artifex in Walla Walla, costs just under $20, and is available from the winery and at select wine shops. Note that the website still lists the 2021; I tasted the 2022, which is just now being released.
