Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WALLA WALLA — Walla Walla County is seeking community members interested in applying for positions on the Walla Walla Fair and Frontier Days Board of Directors. The vacancy is due to Chris Forbes’ resignation. A second seat on the board of directors will become vacant in September 2024 after Stan Bly completes his third term as a board member and is no longer eligible for reappointment.
All applicants will be considered for appointment to fill the vacancy. Board terms are three years, with members eligible to serve up to a maximum of three terms (nine years).
Members of the fair board meet once a month or as needed. Members perform board-related duties approximately ten hours a month and at least sixty hours in the weeks just before, during, and after the Fair and Frontier Days event over Labor Day weekend. Board members serve in a volunteer capacity, performing duties as outlined in various board-related job descriptions.
Application packets (containing an application form, questionnaire, and background information regarding fair board duties and activities) may be obtained from the county website at http://www.co.walla-walla.wa.us, the Walla Walla County Commissioners’ Office at 314 West Main St., Walla Walla, or by calling the Commissioners’ Office at (509) 524-2505.
