Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
DAYTON — “The Fall Guy” (Ryan Gosling) is a stuntman, and like everyone in the stunt community, he gets blown up, shot, crashed, thrown through windows and dropped from the highest of heights, all for our entertainment. And now, fresh off an almost career-ending accident, this working-class hero has to track down a missing movie star, solve a conspiracy and try to win back the love of his life (Emily Blunt), all while still doing his day job. What could possibly go right?
This movie has been rated highly by both the Rotten Tomatoes critics (82%) and audiences (87%). The critics’ consensus is “With action, comedy, romance, and a pair of marvelously matched stars, “The Fall Guy” might be the rare mainstream movie with something to entertain everyone.” It is rated PG-13, and runs for 127 minutes. Friday and Saturday movies are now shown at 7 pm, instead of 7:30.
Notice: If you are interested in participating in the fall production of Fiddler on the Roof and missed the information meeting on May 22, please email mikeferrians@gmail.com. Auditions will be June 3, 5, and 6 from 4:30-7:30 pm each day, with possible callbacks on June 8. Rehearsals will begin the last week of August.
Lastly, as a Dayton Days special, the Liberty Theater is showing a favorite adventure-comedy, “Back to the Future,” at a discounted price of $3, at 11 a.m. on Saturday. In this 1980s sci-fi classic, a small-town teen Marty McFly (Michael J. Fox) is thrown back into the 1950s when an experiment by his eccentric scientist friend Doc Brown (Christopher Lloyd) goes awry. Traveling through time in a modified DeLorean car, Marty encounters young versions of his parents, and must make sure that they fall in love or he’ll cease to exist. He also has to return to his own time and save the life of Doc Brown. This movie has over 90% favorable ratings by Rotten Tomatoes, and it is great fun.
