WW invites public to meeting on tourism master plan

WALLA WALLA — The City of Walla Walla invites residents to join the city and strategy consultants from HUB Collective for a presentation on recommendations for the City’s 10-year tourism master plan.

The presentation will take place at 6 p.m. on June 25, 2024, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 15 N. 3rd Ave. The public may attend in person or via Zoom: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/82884394971, Meeting ID: 828 8439 4971#

The master plan’s goal is to promote quality of life for residents while cultivating a highly engaging experience for visitors that features excellent attractions and celebrates the local way of life.

The HUB team will share the plan’s goals, strategies, and recommendations for a phased approach to achieving those goals over the next ten years. The event will allow residents to hear about the process and share any thoughts before the plan is finalized and approved by the Walla Walla City Council.

The recommendations incorporate feedback provided by community members at a presentation on May 7, 2024, and a subsequent online survey.

“We want the tourism master plan to reflect the perspectives of all Walla Walla residents,” Walla Walla Deputy City Manager Bob Francis said. “By providing these opportunities for community members to share their thoughts, we can create a plan that will benefit everyone — residents and visitors alike.”

The master plan, a product of extensive planning and community input, will be a forward-looking document that outlines the vision for tourism and an action-oriented plan of accomplishment for years to come.

In a press release from the city dated June 17, 2024, the plan was described as a guiding document for tourism investment and planning for the next ten years
