All Wheels Weekend revved up Dayton's over Father's Day Weekend

DAYTON - All Wheels Weekend offered automotive fun for everyone from Friday, June 14, through 16. Over Father's Day Weekend, Dayton was filled with classic cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, and bicycles. There were cackle cars all day, and later, the noisy, adrenaline-pumping Drag the Gut featuring the roar of nitro-fueled cars. These restored vintage dragsters brought the noise to town.

Later that evening, the Frog Hollow Band played music on the courthouse lawn, and the Presentation of Cars began at 6 p.m. from the Bank of Idaho parking lot.

Despite the high winds and rain, an estimated 320 cars lined Dayton's Main Street on Saturday for the Show 'n Shine showcase. President of the Dayton's Chamber of Commerce, Bette Lou Crothers, said the turnout was typical for the popular event. "There were a lot of visitors; it was a great show and a lot of fun!" said Crothers.

The cackle cars were a hit with the crowd, and you really needed earplugs when the cars fired up. Various activities took place throughout the weekend, including craft and food vendors, lawn mower races, free pump-car rides at the Depot, and the Demo Derby at the fairgrounds.
