Time for the 11th Annual Swim the Snake

LYONS FERRY - Time to swim, paddle, or kayak across the Snake River from Lyon's Ferry State Park to Lyon's Ferry Marina. Competitive and non-competitive swimmers and paddlers can now register for the 11th Annual Swim the Snake, which will take place on August 10, 2024

A non-refundable entry fee of $35 includes a commemorative T-shirt, event insurance, bottled water, and melon bites. Proceeds benefit the Blue Mountain Resource Conservation and Development Council, a regional non-profit that supports local competitive youth summer swim programs and other natural resource projects.

Due to the lack of internet connection at Lyons Ferry, electronic payments, credit or debit cards, cannot be processed on the day of the event. Participants are required to pre-register online at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/swim-the-snake-2024-tickets-910119159907

Swimmers must sign waivers and wear numbered swim caps (included) while swimming in the event. The distance is .7 miles one way, with the option to turn around for a round-trip of 1.4 miles open water swim.

There will be a shuttle for swimmers wishing a ride back to the state park.

Paddlers will start at 11 a.m., and swimmers will begin at 11:30 a.m. Paddlers are encouraged to cheer on the swimmers in the water after they finish..
