Clayton transcends party politics

To the editor,

I am delighted to see Bertha Clayton running as a non-partisan candidate for Walla Walla County Commissioner! Most issues at the local level transcend party politics. They are things on which we can all agree: responsible money management, good administration of county government and departments, strong and secure courts, firm but evenhanded law enforcement, maintaining good roads, county buildings, and other infrastructure, treating both employees and county residents fairly, providing services for the vulnerable among us, and ethical conduct. These are basic, common-sense values. And common sense and good judgement, along with her legal experience and professional training, are the traits that make Bertha a perfect candidate for the job. Regardless of your party affiliation, please join me in voting for Bertha Clayton for county commissioner.
