Waitsburg Commerecial Club adopts a highway

WAITSBURG - Waitsburg Commercial Club President Tiffany Baxter initiated the officers in the Adopt a Highway program. Club officers Baxter, Karen Huwe, Judy Bennett, and Paul Mantz-Powers, with volunteer Bart Baxter, cleaned two miles along Highway 12 on Thursday, August 22.

Washington's Adopt-a-Highway is a roadside clean-up program that started in 1990. It allows individuals and groups to sponsor sections of the state highway by agreeing to care for them for two years. Typically, sponsors arrange up to four litter pick-ups annually. The Waitsburg Commercial Club joins hundreds of groups across the state who are committed to keeping our state beautiful.
