At the Liberty:27th Annual Manhattan Short Film Festival

DAYTON — The 27th Annual Manhattan Shorts Film Festival begins at the Liberty Theater on September 27. The Liberty Theater is the only theater hosting this film festival in eastern Washington. There is no other hosting venue within hundreds of miles in northern Idaho or eastern Oregon.

The top ten finalist short films come from the United Kingdom, France, Croatia, Australia, Ukraine, Ireland, Italy, and the U.S. will be shown at each screening of this annual film festival. The festival takes place internationally between September 26 and October 6 in over 500 venues across six continents.

The shortest of the 10 films is five minutes, and the longest is 22 minutes long. The Best Film and Best Actor awards are determined from ballots cast by audience members at each participating venue. By virtue of their selection as one of the top ten films by Manhattan Short, each short film is automatically Oscar-qualified.
