Multi-media Artist Catherine Eaton Skinner to Present at Royal Block

WAITSBURG-Catherine Eaton Skinner will visit The Royal Block in Waitsburg on Saturday, October 5, 2024, at 6 p.m. to participate in this month's Art Talk. She will discuss her work and art-making practice.

"Azimuth CXIV" is one of Skinner's encaustic artworks on view at the Royal Block and will be the subject of Joseph Roberts' Art Talk this month. The monthly Art Talks are facilitated by Roberts as round-table discussions considering differing perceptions of a single artwork.

With studios in Seattle, Washington, and Santa Fe, New Mexico, Skinner's creative sensibilities are informed by her Pacific Northwest upbringing and a life of natural exploration.

Skinner's work is internationally exhibited and critically acclaimed. She is represented in public and private collections, including the Henry Art Gallery at University of Washington, Tacoma Art Museum, and Santa Fe's Museum of Encaustic Art.

Skinner's artworks and poetry are included in publications, including her monograph, "108," published by Radius Books, and "Unleashed" published by University of Washington Press. Her work has appeared in art and literature anthologies and magazines, including ARTfolio 2022 and 2020, Blue Mesa Review, and Still Point Arts Quarterly.

The monthly Art Talk is free to the public (21+.) No art experience is necessary, just curiosity about art, artists, and their impact on our lives. Guests are welcome to arrive early to visit with the artist before the discussion
