School haunted house raises fears, fun, and funds

WAITSBURG - Student and adult volunteers staged a scary, well-organized haunted house at Preston Hall on October 30. The frightfest successfully raised money towards the costs to send students to the Amazing Shake National Competion in Georgia in March 2025.

About 225 brave souls went through the scary house, some more than once, raising over $1,100. Volunteer middle and high school students were dressed to scare visitors. The adult with the chainsaw at the end made even the adults jump.

There were four trunk-or-treat groups: The Friends of the Weller Public Library, the Waitsburg Christian Church, Waitsburg Boosters, and Waitsburg Booster Cheerleaders on hand to pass out free candy to children and adults.
