Waitsburg Students brighten the holiday season with music
WAITSBURG - Waitsburg Elementary School held its winter program at the high school auditorium on Thursday, December 18.
Students from preschool through fifth grade performed to the delight of a house packed with family and friends. The preschool students were directed by their teacher, Eleanora Montgomery. Music Director Elizabeth Jagelski directed the kindergarten through grade five students.
Preschool's morning class sang – "We All Hold Hands Together" and the afternoon class sang "I am a Little Star."
Kindergarten – "The Dreidel Song" and "Must be Santa"
1st grade – "Jingle Bells/Hear the Sleigh Bells" and "Candy Cane Lane"
2nd grade – "A Holly Jolly Christmas" and "Hot, Hot Chocolate"
3rd grade – "African Praise Noel" and "It's Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas"
4th grade – "All I Want for Christmas" and "Rise Up"
5th grade – "A La Ninita Nana" and "Where Are You Christmas"
The elementary school program finished with all the students singing "In This House Tonight."
Three Waitsburg High School students performed a winter recital for family and friends on Wednesday, December 18, in the high school band room.
Student musicians Sarah Daves, Leif Heckman, and Ellie Teal showcased their musical talent under the direction and accompaniment of Music Director Elizabeth Jagelski.
The trio played the following songs:
"Jingle Bells"
"Shalom Chaverim"
"Grant Us Peace" (Dona Nobis Pacem)
"Go For Excellence"
"Frosty The Snowman"
They performed two medleys:
Christmas Overture Medley –
"Away In a Manger"
"O' Christmas Tree"
Christmas in Concert Medley –
"Hark The Angels"
"The First Noel"
"O Come All Ye Faithful"
Daves, Teal, and Jagelski performed "Carol Of The Bells" to wrap the evening's performance.
