Serving Waitsburg, Dayton and the Touchet Valley
WAITSBURG–The Waitsburg Cardinal High School basketball teams learned how hard it is to compete after a two-week break, dropping the girls’ and boys’ games at Dayton on Friday, January 3.
Before the break, the boys finally saw many good things happening. Coach Westin Wallace hopes his team will hold themselves accountable and keep working.
Logan Seal scored nine points. Dayton won 66-24.
The girls fought hard, but early foul trouble kept key players out of the game, said Coach Kira Waggoner. “We played solid defense. We will keep working and look forward to playing the Bulldogs on our home court,” she added.
Alyssa Hollingsworth scored 14 points in the 57-20 loss.
The Cardinals’ JV team played two quarters of basketball against the Bulldogs and won 12-9 on a buzzer-beater three-point basket by Tyler Coulston.
