WAITSBURG - The Waitsburg High School Lady Cardinals basketball team lost 83-11 at Garfield-Palouse on Friday, January 10, and 64-27 to Colton on Saturday, January 12.
"The girls have played these teams twice now and their improvement from the beginning of the season to now was evident. The girls are starting to understand how to break a press, which is helping a lot," said Coach Kira Waggoner.
At Garfield-Palouse, Alyssa Hollingsworth scored six points, Hannah Peralez and Olivia Kiefel scored two points each, and Kadance Tiner added one point.
On Kison Court against Colton, Hollingsworth scored 17 points and rebounded six. Kiefel scored four points and had three rebounds, and Peralez added four points, six rebounds, and four steals. Cheri Mathews contributed two points, Jessika added a point, and Tiner rebounded five.
The Lady Cardinals play at Oakesdale and Tekoa-Rosalia on January 17 and 18.
