At the Liberty:"Paddington in Peru"

DAYTON — “ Paddington in Peru” brings Paddington’s story to Peru where he visits his beloved Aunt Lucy, at the Home for Retired Bears. With the Brown Family in tow, a thrilling adventure ensues when a mystery plunges them into an unexpected journey through the Amazon rainforest and up to the mountain peaks of Peru.

The cast for “Paddington in Peru” includes Imelda Staunton, Hugh Bonneville, Ben Whishaw, Antonio Banderas, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Emily Mortimer, Olivia Colman, and Samuel Joslin.

The critics’ consensus on “Rotten Tomatoes” includes the following critique, “Paddington in Peru whisks away cinema’s politest bear to a fresh setting under new creative stewardship, delivering a most agreeable adventure for the whole family.” The critics gave it a rating of 93%.

“Rotten Tomatoes” audience agreed, saying “Paddington in Peru” is “a heartwarming movie with a lot of laughs for kids and adults alike.” It is rated PG for action, mild rude humor, and thematic elements. It has a runtime of 106 min.

Tickets are on sale now for the Liberty’s annual variety show, with performances on March 28 through 30. The 2025 TVAC variety show, “Songs of the Elements,” is fire, water, earth, and air themed, featuring songs including “I Feel the Earth Move,” “Burn, Ring of Fire,” and “Walking on Fire.” The music comes from a wide range of genres, such as pop, rock, country, and classical. It will have you singing and tapping your toes along to some of your favorite tunes, laughing at hilarious jokes and skits, and simply enjoying the talents of local dancers, musicians, and actors.
