Waitsburg Blood Drive a Success

WAITSBURG — On March 21, the local National Honor Society coordinated with the Red Cross to organize a blood drive at the Waitsburg High School gym. Donors were welcome to walk in or schedule appointments for the drive.

Advisor Shannon Schreindl said the turnout was so successful that they had to stop accepting walk-ins. The Red Cross volunteers said they had not expected such a high turnout and wished they had brought more staff.

Honor Society members Alyssa Hollingsworth, Marion Duncan, Sarah Daves, Sarah Wilson, Jackson Karl, Cedar Stegall, and Karissa Potts helped with the 27 donors who participated in the event.

“I am so proud of the students and the community,” said Schreindl.

The club plans to host a blood drive next school year.
