WAITSBURG – The Waitsburg Elementary presented PRIDE Awards at Waitsburg Elementary's assembly on Monday, March 24, students received PRIDE awards and announced results from the recent American Heart Association events. Top fundraisers also participated in a Silly String war, which brought smiles to students and staff.
School Counselor Rosy Nechodom opened the assembly with the following PRIDE awards:
Prepared – Avery Janovich
Respect – Kaitlyn Miller
Integrity – Scarlett Scott
Disciplined – Cannon Abel
Excellence – Azaleah Flores
Jump Rope for Heart and Hoops for Heart coordinator Deanna Coulston announced that the first-grade class raised the most money with $1,345 in donations. The American Heart Association event took place on February 7 in the high school gym.
Kennedy Henze was the top individual fundraiser, having raised $950. Twenty students raised $100 or more in donations and earned the opportunity to participate in the Silly String war against paraeducators Lash LaRue and John Langford.
